If you are in the market looking to buy a DVD burner, here a few good choices to consider.  My top pick is the Sony DRU530A (and coming soon.. the Sony DRU700 which will be capable of burning double layer DVDs!) which has performed flawlessly for me! I got one during Christmas and have had almost no problems making backups and burning DVD movies.
